Myself and other colleagues working at the University of the West of England, Bristol have benefited enormously from the approach and work of Tim and his colleagues at Co-opportunity. We have collaborated on two projects and two bids for research funding. As a social enterprise Co-opportunity has the experience and patience to work with a range of partners from all sectors. They helped us to support ten third sector organizations, many engaging with database and database management for the first time, and we found Co-opportunity to be helpful, supportive and efficient in managing their and our IT needs. This is especially vital for working with partners who were reluctant engagers with IT. We found that Tim was able to resolve any technical issues or questions in a manner that maintained our partner’s confidence ensuring buy-in to the research process. This reduced our stress levels and we have, and continue to, ...

We love the professional but friendly approach you offer. We also like the clear communication, we know when you're going to deal with our accounts and we can always rely on a comprehensive set of queries when you respond to us, which gives us confidence. You have helped us simplify our accounts, particularly with our bank reconciliations, internal transfers etc, so it's all clear and not confusing. This has made our life easier month to month and the end of year independent examination much easier all round, and probably saves us money! We would definitely recommend Co-opportunity.

First of all I'd like to say that I would definitely recommend your services to others because what really stands out for me about Co-opportunity is your approach: to offer full accounting support (very much tailored to the needs of the client) and at the same time, skilling up and training clients so they can learn how to do the accounting themselves. I value this as a very honest and empowering approach to accounting and although we haven't yet made any use of the training aspect of your services this was one of the elements that really increased my trust in your service and made it attractive. The other aspect that stood out for me was that you are a co-operative like us so coming from a similar value-base, which again increases my level of trust and belief in the quality of your approach and services. What I particularly valued about your ...

Room 13 is an independent, highly acclaimed, child led arts and enterprise project working with children at Hareclive Primary School in Hartcliffe, south Bristol.  We needed to be able to measure the numbers of children making use of our project and analyse this by when they came and who they were (age, gender, ethnicity, free school meals).  We also wanted to record other information about children who were particularly involved in the project.  We needed a database that could do this, whilst still being as simple and user-friendly as possible: children are involved in all aspects of running Room 13, and 10 or 11 year olds might well be inputting data or looking things up; and no adult within our very small team is particularly IT minded.  We also needed something that was affordable and possible for us, as Room 13 achieves a great deal on ...

Always friendly and approachable, but a highly efficient service. Would certainly recommend. Your help during our funded time was brilliant! Always know you are there if we need you.

In 2010, I was incredibly lucky to be given the opportunity to take over a beautifully located café, which had sadly gone belly up with the owners prior to myself.  The ridiculous thing was that I was given just 24 hours to decide whether to take up the opportunity, and to make matters more complicated, I had found out a couple of days before that I was pregnant with our second child.   I must have been mad, because I said yes without a seconds thought!! Because of the incredibly short notice, I had no time whatsoever to plan the business properly and essentially ran with it – not a good idea!! The café increased in popularity with the speed at which my belly grew with baby and I rarely had a moment to breath, let alone sit down and work out how to do my accounts.  Tim at Coopportunity ...
